Golf’s World No. 1 Rory McIlroy has a new mate – Tennis World No. 1 Roger Federer.

McIlroy caught up with Federer during this week’s WTP/ATP event in Cincinatti.

McIlroy went back to World No. 1 in capturing last week’s PGA Championship at Kiawah Island while Federer moved back to Number One on the tennis rankings with his remarkable victory at Wimbledon.

It is not only Tiger Woods who looks good in red.

While McIlroy picked up his second Major it was Federer’s 17th Grand Slam title.

McIlroy turned up for the photo with Federer wearing his new favourite colour, red and less than a week after donning a red shirt for the final round of this year’s final Major in South Carolina.

And not to be outdone Federer was also wearing a red t-shirt.

Could the top sporting duo be sending a reminder to another famous sports star has long worn red?
