Rory McIlroy To Now Draw On Augusta Experience & Congressional Command Performance Memories.

Rory McIlroy heads into the final round of the 94th PGA Championship declaring he will draw on his Augusta Masters experience along with memories of his commanding Congressional winning performance in a goal to lift the gleaming Rodman Wanamaker Trophy.

McIlroy will take a three shot lead into the last day of the year’s final Major.

The World No. 3 posted a third round 67 to finish the rain-affected round mid-morning Sunday on seven under par.

And while McIlroy was heading back to his rented house for some lost sleep, he will be dreaming of a second Major success.

“I think you see a lot of guys that haven’t held on in the past, it’s been a first‑time experience for them,” he said.

“You know, I learned a lot from the Masters last year, and that’s definitely something that I can think back to and draw on some of those memories and some of the feelings I had at Congressional, as well, just to go, right ‑‑ because you obviously know, you realize that you might not feel the same or your anxiety level is a little bit higher, and at least being in that position before, I’ll know what to do again.

“And I think Augusta last year will stand me in great stead this afternoon.”
