Harrington’s Ryder Cup Goal Buckles Under A Barclays 75.

One day Padraig Harrington was in the Barclays Championship penthouse celebrating a sizzling 64 but 24 hours later the Irishman’s hope of securing a Ryder Cup ‘wildcard’ pick nose-dived under the weight of a Bethpage Park 75.

Harrington bogeyed six of his opening eight holes just a day after producing his lowest opening round on the PGA Tour in two years.

And if European Ryder Cup captain, Jose Maria Olazabal needed any last excuse in not picking the three time Major Champion he has it now after Harrington went from first on the leaderboard to be lying in a share of 16th place at three under par as the afternoon half of the draw took to the former U.S. Open host venue.
