Mickelson Gets A Look At Royal St. Georges.

Phil Mickelson got a first look at Royal St. George’s in eight years when he played two practice rounds on next week’s Open Championship venue.

The current World No. 6 was in London over the weekend to be present for the Wimbledon men’s final.

The four time Major Champion also happily agreed to sign any item placed in front of him.

Mickelson was then flown to Kent and played an afternoon practice round.

He stayed overnight and was back out on the Kent course this morning getting more familiar with the venue set to host the 140th Open Championship.

Mickelson then made his way north to Inverness, arriving late in the afternoon, and where tomorrow he participate in a 1pm shotgun start to the Pro-Am.

Not surprising, Mickelson will be accompanied by Barclay’s chief and good friend, Bob Diamond.

However with the Wednesday forecast not all that good, there is a strong likelihood the Pro-Am could be cancelled.

On Monday he was guest of Barclay’s and attended their London Head Office, where he proceeded to spend some 45-minutes answering a variety of impromptu questions from thrilled staff members.
