Dougie Lowe, the very popular former Herald golf correspondent, was remembered with a minute’s silence this morning on day two of the Barclays Scottish Open.

Dougie passed away in March after a very short illness.

He is greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues as evident when they gathered today in the Media Centre at Castle Stuart.

Dougie always looked upon these two week’s – Barclays Scottish Open and The Open – as the happiest fortnight of his golf reporting year.
