It is a list of stars sponsor’s would kill for!
The Barclays Scottish Open is going to boast one of the best fields ever with the world’s leading six players to tee up at Castle Stuart overlooking the Moray Firth to the east of Inverness.

World No. 1 Lee Westwood heading the world's top-six ranked players to tackle the stunning Gil Hanse designed Castle Stuart course near Inverness.
World No. 1 Lee Westwood, winner of the event in 1998, will head those intending to test their game on the stunning Gil Hanse designed course.
As well, new World No. 2 Luke Donald said he’s adding the event to his schedule for a first time in four years after being fourth in 2007 and with superb earlier results of second in 2006 and fifth the year before.
“I’ve heard a lot about Castle Stuart given it’s a links course so it’s going to be a good warm-up and preparation for The Open,” said Donald.
“I haven’t played the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond the last couple of years and instead I’ve gone off, and played a lot of links courses so it hasn’t worked out.
“I’ve heard Castle Stuart is very ‘Kingsbarnish’ so it should be good prep. I’m, also going to go down to Royal St. George’s for a few days before heading to Castle Stuart, so it’s going to be a good run of links golf.”
On top of Westwood and Donald, Germany’s Martin Kaymer, winner of the 2009 Barclays Scottish Open and current World No. 3, along with World No. 4, Phil Mickelson plus World No. 5, Graeme McDowell who captured the event in 2008 plus Irish countryman, Rory McIlroy who rounds off the leading six on the rankings.
Former Open Champion and Scotland’s Paul Lawrie is singing the praise of the field set to tackle the compete at Castle Stuart.
“To have the top six ranked players committing to the Barclays Scottish Open is just fantastic news,” said Lawrie.
“Ticket sales are way ahead of normal at this time of year, and people up north have not had a huge event like this before and that’s why interest is high, so they will be coming out in force.
“So can you imagine what it’s going to be like having the leading six players in the world competing.
“It’s always been a big event but this year’s Barclays Scottish Open promises to be the best ever.”
