Europe Just Four Points From A Stunning Ryder Cup Roman Conquest

Four points is all that Europe requires for a stunning Ryder Cup Roman conquest.

Europe head to the Sunday Singles leading 10 1/2 to 5 1/2 and this after a USA fightback over the Saturday afternoon Fourball matches.

The Zach Johnson led side won three of the four matches to breath some life in what has been a rather lifeless USA Ryder Cup team who had struggled until Saturday afternoon on the host Marco Simone host course in the Italian capital.

However was the sun set in Rome, the visiting Americans find themselves five points behind and with 12 points on offer in the Singles.

The questions now are:

+ Can Europe come back from their record-losing 10-point Whistling Straits defeat to win a 12th success since Europe joined the Ryder Cup competition in 1979, and in the process secure victory for an eighth occasion since 2000?

+ Can the American side overcome a five point deficit and win the nine of 12 matches it requires and, if so, also win for a first time on Euopean soil in 30-years?
