Fourteen -year old Charlie Woods continues to impress and with his 15-time major-winning father again on the bag as his caddy.
The win qualified Charlie for the final of the Notah Begal 111 National Championship after winning a 14-15 age division qualifing event over the weekend in Florida.
It’s not the first time Tiger’s been acting as his son’s caddy and on this latest outing the duo combined for Charlie to post an opening one-under 71 and then backed that up with a second and final round 66, that included seven birdies and also holing an eight footer at the last to win the weekend event by a shot.

Following the win Charlie revealed that was grateful to be caddied by his father. “It’s great. We just stay in our own little world,” Charlie told tournament host Ryan Burr.
“We take it one shot at a time. He puts me in my place. I’ll talk about the next tee shot and he’s like ‘No.’ This is the shot we’re going to focus on.”
Reflecting on his performance, Charlie added: “Shooting 68 last year and followed up with 66 this year. Obviously, this course is great for me. You have to go shoot a low round to win this thing, and it’s not going to be given. Just took it one shot at a time, don’t think too far ahead, and you just gotta keep eating. That’s it.”
The win was Charlie’s second of the summer following the young teenager’s win on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour.
The Notah Begay III National Championship is being held at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana on Nov. 4.
