The 2023 Horizon Irish Open just gets stronger with a world class turnout after Aussie golfing super star Adam Scott confirmed he will contest next month’s 68th hosting of the championship at the K. Club.
Scott, 43, went onto his Instagram account to confirm: “Getting dialed for the Irish Open and Wentworth”.

The Aussie’s appearance at the K. Club will end a 21-year absence for Scott teeing-up in the Emerald Isle.
It will also mark Scott’s 250th DP World Tour sanctioned event.
Scott is among golf’s global superstars having turned pro in mid-2000, and has gone on to become the first Australian to win the Masters while he’s captured another 30 tournaments around the world including 13 ‘regular’ events on the PGA Tour, 10 on the DP World Tour, four Asian Tour titles and among those three Singapore Open crowns and six in his native Australia.
Among those 30 victories is wins in some 10 different nations but not including Ireland.
In fact, among the earliest tournaments Scot contested in his rookie 2000 DP World Tour season was a 10th place result in only his fifth event that year at Irish Open at Ballybunion.
Scott showed his fondness for the Irish Open returning in 2001 to finish sixth at Fota Island and than a share of 27th a year later at Druids Glen.
After competing at the K. Club Scott will then head to Tour HQ at Wentworth for the first time since missing the cut at the 2006 BMW Championship.
Of course, Scott and other players missing out on the PGA Tour Play-Off Series events have been somewhat forced into seeking alternate competition with the regular PGA season now falling back into a January to December schedule.
Incidentially, Scott has earned Euro 8.3m in career DP World Tour earnings while he’s banked a whopping $US 63m in PGA Tour prize-money.
