Richie Ramsay will next tee-up the other side of 40 years of age following a strong finish in the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed in Stockholm.
Ramsay, who turns 40 on Thursday, collected his second top-10 in his past three events, posting a closing 71 for a share of fifth place at 14-under-par on the host Ullna course to the north of the Swedish capital.
The Scot’s season-best finish comes after Ramsay finished seventh last month in Belgium.
England’s Dale Whitnell celebrated a maiden DP World Tour title, signing for a closing 71 and win by three shots at 21-under.
Whitnell, contesting his 106th Tour event, lead from day two and from there the similar Callaway Golf attached player as Ramsay was never headed.
He said: “I’m ecstatic. It’s been a long time coming. It means everything to me, it’s what I get up every day for. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. I’ve dreamt of this for a long time.”
Dutch woman Anne Van Dam, 27, and a member of the 2019 Gleneagles winning Solheim Cup side, and who partnered Ramsay over the last day, finished the leading female.
Van Dam finished with a 69 to also share third place overall at 15-under.
