Ramsay Primed To Celebrate The Big Four Zero Driving Off With Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed Title

Richie Ramsay’s primed to celebrate the big FOUR ZERO heading to the final round of the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed in Stockholm.

Ramsay, who turns 40 next Thursday, kept himself in contention for a fifth Tour title, posting a third round 69 to remain in third place at 13-under-par on the Ullna course just to the north of the Swedish capital.

England’s Dale Whitnell retains the lead, albeit having it cut from six shots to four following his two-under 70 and move to 19-under, and four clear of German Yannik Paul (68) at 15-under and with Ramsay next best.

Ramsay posted four birdies including just missing a 40-footer for eagle at the par-5 15th that would have been a third eagle in as many days at the hole.

He said: “The boys are playing well up front but I am within touching distance, and the goal is always to be in the mix over the back nine.

“The back nine here has a lot more opportunities, and if I can just jostle for position a little bit I can be right there.

“You don’t know what anyone is going to do, so all you can do is do your best 100 percent, and then if an opportunity arises go for it”.

And 20-year Japanese sensation, Ryo Hisatsure, and like Whitnell’s 61 on Friday, showed there is a low score to be had, with last year’s Australian Open runner-up signing for a 63 to be at nine-under, and with three others shooting 64s.

Top woman is Dutch ace Anne Van Dam, a member of the Gleneagles winning European Solheim Cup team, and just a stroke behind Ramsay.
