Miguel Angel Jimenez rolled out the red carpet for Tiger Woods but all the Andalucian Open host received was a smile from the 14-time Major winner.
For a second year running Jimenez tried to tempt Woods to the Costa del Sol with everything from a free flight, a palatial hotel room and dinner in the company of this week’s pony-tailed host.

Jimenez, who this year is celebrating 30 years as a pro, again approached Woods during the recent swing of WGC events in the States but for a second occasion all Woods did was to smile.
However for a third year in succession Jimenez has had to delve into his own pocket to keep the tournament afloat with sources believing the Malaga golfer has coughed-up some Euro 500,000.
“It is difficult for me to keep putting money into this tournament but these are difficult times,” said Jimenez.
“I have been losing some money every year but to me it is not about losing money but more about the future of this tournament.
“To me, it is very important to give something back to golf because golf has given me everything in my life.
“So I want to ensure the golfers have somewhere to play and it’s important for me that they are playing here in Andalucia.”
It’s also been revealed Jimenez had to part with his beloved Ferrari in divorcing from his wife.
But when quizzed what he was doing about another motor he responded: “I bought another Ferrari!”
