Knox Looking To Make It Five-From-Six At Farmers Insurance.

Looking for a good all round bet at this week’s 2021 Farmers Insurance Open you would not go wrong picking Scotland’s Russell Knox.

Knox is making his sixth appearane at this week’s Torrey Pines event and in four of five prior showings on the course overlooking the stunning-looking Pacific Ocean the proud Scot has made the cut.

Here’s the results of Russell’s efforts at the Farmers Insurance Open.

2014 – T10th (Low round 3rd round 67)

2015 – Missed Cut

2018 – T29th (Pair of 69s)

2019 – T43rd (Opening 67)

2021 – T21st (Pair of 69s)

Summary 2019,2020/21 season:

After bridging the 2019 holidays with 11 consecutive cuts made worldwide, he bracketed the three-month hiatus of 2020 with 10 straight missed cuts.

Since connecting for a T25 at the Barracuda Championship on the first weekend of August, he’s 7-for-11 with six top 25s, the latest of which a T16 at The American Express where he was positioned two strokes off the pace of the 54-hole tri-leaders, a fate resembling his final-round fade at Mayakoba where he slipped to a T23 with a closing, even-par 71 in early December.

Russell is currently third on the PGA TOUR in greens hit and 21st in proximity, both components of his core strengths.

A potential bonus this week at Torrey Pines is the weather that figures to challenge. The next Scot you meet who doesn’t present as a threat in less-than-favorable conditions will be the first.
