Ernie Els is the golf course designer at the exclusive Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas.

The road leading to the clubhouse in named ‘Ernie’s Way’.

And when Els got behind the microphone during the later stages of Tiger Woods’ opening Hero World Challenge round and spoke highly of the player who had denied the South African more than a few Major Championship titles.

“Tiger is looking very athletic and I felt his body a little bit and he felt like a football player,” said Els.

“He looks really strong.  He’s healthy again and his swing, and while I have not seen him swing a club for a while, his swing looks great.  I also feel that his intensity is great, too.  So there is a lot of positives.

“The big thing though coming off a long break like Tiger has had is the feel.  It is great playing with your buddies back home but there is a different feel going through his body.

“Tiger had been such a great player through his whole career and it is just amazing how this guy’s got the talent to bounce back from adversity.”
