TPC Boston, MA …
Russell Knox is assured of playing all four rounds in the Dell Technologies Championship after posting a pair of 72s for a two-over tally.
However, the Scot had to call for a referee at his last hole with he and playing partners, Anirban Lahiri and Bud Cauley could not determine when Knox’s ball had crossed into a hazard pin-high right of the flag at 18.
He said: “We all were not sure where my ball had rolled into the hazard so hence the call for a referee.

Russell Knox studies his options as Bub Cauley (l) and Anirban Lahiri (r) offer their assistance at the last hole.
“Overall it was a frustrating day as I was playing better than I scored and I just didn’t take advantage of my chances.
“I had a great birdie holing a 12-footer and then just missed on 17 but after a beautiful drive down 18 to take a bogey with my 4-iron was disappointing.”
Knox still had the 4-iron in his hand after handing in his scorecard and remarked: “I don’t think this club will be appearing in the bag again”.
Likely European Tour ‘Rookie of the Year’ John Rahm muscled his way into the clubhouse lead birding five of his closing eight holes in a 66 to move to nine-under par and two clear of the field.
Martin Laird joined Knox into the last two rounds with scores of 74 and 70.
