‘Lucky’ David Drysdale Climbs High In Swiss Alps With Lowest Round In Three Years.

Lucky’ David Drysdale grabbed his lowest round in three years with a storming 64 to in sight of a first Tour victory heading to today’s (SUN) final day of the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre.

It is the 41-year old Borders star’s lowest score since a similar 64 on day two of the 2013 KLM Open and also on the occasion of Drysdale’s 13th appearance on the Alpine course.

Drysdale was four under for his round before the highlight of the day when he eagled the par five 14th after birdies at the same hole over the prior two days.

“I played lovely today with just the one mistake but overall I am just delighted to move up the leader board for a change,” he said.

“I didn’t know this was my 13th time here so that’s great then to celebrate one of my best scores for some time on a lucky 13th start here at Crans as I just love coming back to the town and the course each year.”

Masters champion, Danny Willett added a 70 for a three under total to be just be inside the top-40 while fellow Hazeltine rookie, Matt Fitzpatrick shot a 66 to be at four under.

Big-hitting Aussie Scott Hend, a twice winner this season, shot a second 65 in three rounds to lead by a stroke at 13-under par.
