Tournament host Sergio Garcia crushed his Castellon Masters guests by a stunning 11 strokes to win the event for a second time in four years and then sounded a timely 2012 Ryder Cup reminder.
Garcia once again displayed his knowledge of the Club de Campo del Mediterranean course where he grew up playing golf to capture also his ninth Race to Dubai success with a 27-under par total.
The 30-year old Spaniard opened the week teaming with 10-time Grand Slam winning Rafa Nadal to win the Pro-Am before closing out the event proper with scores of 67, 63, 64 and a last day 63.

Garcia delighted club members as well as his Seniors Tour father, Victor who has now gone from walking the course with a wedge to carrying a white-headed driver.
Garcia’s effort over the four rounds included two eagles, 27 birdies and only four bogeys over the four days.
He will move to No. 32 on the World Ranking but in also moving to 10th place overall on the European Ryder Cup points table, Garcia sounded a timely ultimatum to 2012 Ryder Cup captain, Jose Maria Olazabal.
“The Ryder Cup is huge and very important for me and even more in a Ryder Cup year,” said Garcia.
“Everyone knows how much the Ryder Cup means to me and I want to keep playing well.
“I don’t want to slow down after this and I want to keep more and more Ryder Cup points.
“I want to make that Ryder Cup team by myself and qualify automatically and not be a pick.”
Finishing in a distant second place was fellow Spaniard and Madrid Masters tournament host, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano who signed for a 64 and a 16-under par total
Sharing third was Scotland’s Richie Ramsay (65) and Sweden’s Alex Noren (64) at 15-under par.
