Tom Lewis Drives Off With New $88,850 Cadillac But Nothing For Jimenez After Abu Dhabi Aces.

England’s Tom Lewis is now the proud owner of a $US 88,850 Cadillac ‘Escalade’ after a hole-in-one on the opening day of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Lewis aced the par three, 7th hole hitting a 7-iron 193-yards on the National course in the UAE capital

And it seemed only fitting that it is the 10th hole-in-one in the 10-year history of the event and the first in three years ago three players, including Ryder Cup stars Sergio Garcia and Graeme McDowell recorded aces in the 2012 event.

However Lewis has the distinction of grabbing the first ace at the seventh hole.

It is also the fourth hole-in-one of the 2014/15 European Tour wraparound season and if Lewis does not want to keep the vehicle he can exchange the car for cash.

And no sooner had Lewis savoured his ace and the Tour’s oldest winner, Jose Maria Olazabal recorded a hole-in-one at the par three, 12th.

The Spaniard’s tee shot took one bounce and disappeared into the hole.

But while Jimenez earned only the honour on the next tee he became the second all-time leading hole-in-one player on the European Tour behind Colin Montgomerie.
