Tiger Woods newest business venture – ‘The Woods Jupiter’ is now just weeks away from opening and we have some of the first pics of the restaurant and sports bar located at Harbourside Place in Jupiter, and just minutes from the 14-time Major winner’s palatial Jupiter Island abode.
‘The Woods Jupiter’ is one business in a $150m Harbourside Place development located at the intersection of Highway 1 and Indiantown Road, Jupiter.
The development was officially opened on October 1st last year and comprises a shops, restaurants, bars and the Wydnham Grand Jupiter Hotel.
Woods spoke about the progress during the course of last month’s Hero World Challenge Pro-Am and says he’s hoping an opening will take place around March 2015.
The former long-time World No. 1 did issue a statement late last year saying: “I’ve been watching Harbourside Place’s development since it broke ground more than two years ago, and know that it is the perfect location for my sports and dining club. I look forward to enjoying my restaurant as much as I hope the public will.”
“I envision a place where people can meet friends, watch sports on TV and enjoy a great meal,”
Woods added. “I wanted to build it locally where I live and where it could help support the community.”
However at this stage ‘The Woods Jupiter’ is still undergoing internal set-up and with the doors and windows covered with panels of decorative plates of food one might find on the menu, and including a famed golf related saying from some of the greats of the game as well as one from Billy Graham, and NBL great and Woods’ good friend Michael Jordan (see photographs).
When Woods was asked by this journalist during the course of the Pro-Am in last month’s Hero World Challenge, if the golfing media will be afford a discount, as Graeme McDowell has often done for those attending his Nona Blue Bistro at Lake None in Orlando, he just laughed remarking: “Hell, no!”
However ‘The Woods Jupiter’, as you will see does not command the best of locations at Harbourside Place and when we visited the complex the front of the restaurant was being used for valet parking while the floors overlooking the restaurant act as a public car park.
But then anything with Woods name on it should prove extremely popular and we’re looking forward to visiting the dwelling once it’s opened and taking Woods personal advice by trying the steak.
