One of the increasing delights in reporting on the PGA Tour is the pleasure to take advantage of Airbnb and it’s ever-increasing selection of houses.
Too often we have stayed at unfriendly hotels fighting to get a window open for some fresh air and missing breakfast because we’ve been five minutes late in getting ourselves downstairs.
So with the assistance of Airbnb we have spent the past three weeks while present here in the US taking advantage of the houses for rental.
We did this in Akron, Ohio for the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational and then a week later we enjoyed the comforts of residing in a house less than 10 minutes from the center of Louisville, Kentucky where we were present to report on the 96th PGA Championship.
Last week, we stayed in a wonderful house at 910 Johnson Street, High Point in North Carolina and just an easy 20-minute drive to the Sedgefield Country Club and venue for the Wyndham Championship.
We were met by John Paul McNeil who was wonderful in showing us about a charming and wonderfully maintained and decorated ‘Southern-style’ dwelling.
Here is a selection of photographs of the house and also of Bernie and his long-time colleague and compatriot Andrew Both, who between them must have covered over 1,000 Tour events on the PGA and European Tours.
