A Dozen New Orleans Oysters That Could Feed A Family Of Four

New Orleans is not only famous for the sights and sounds of the French Quarter but the many culinary and alcoholic delights awaiting to be discovered along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River.

While a Hurricane  is a must when it comes to drinks, top of the list when it comes to satisfying your Louisiana taste buds is the humble oyster.

And I’m not talking your spoon-size rock oysters but oysters nearly as big as the palm of your hand.

Having grown up savoring the Pacific Ocean washed Sydney shoreline oysters I thought I could easily handle a dozen of New Orleans best.

However when a dozen New Orleans oysters arrived my first reaction was I was glad I hadn’t ordered a main course because here was a dozen oysters struggling to fit comfortably on the serving plate.

Lick your lips and check out these oysters.
