Just 12 months after Rory McIlroy signed a reputed $225m deal with sports equipment giant Nike and the 24-year old Northern Irishman has designed his own polo shirt.
The Lightweight Innovation Color Polo is following Nike’s new apparel slogan ‘Built To Move.’
McIlroy had a lot of input on the shirt, said Merritt Richardson, Vice President/Global Category Business Director Apparel, Footwear and Accessories for Nike Golf.
The shoulder seams – although the shirt is seamless because Nike wanted no distractions for the player – have been moved onto the upper back of the shirt for the best possible mobility throughout a golf swing.
It is lightweight and dry fit, as well as bright and athletic.
All four colors will be his scripted outfit for the Masters for Rory as we saw last week in Abu Dhabi and with the double Major winner pairing his choice of shirts with colour co-ordinated pants.
