Flying Dutchman Joost Luiten Lands First Albatross Of 2014.

Flying Dutchman Joost Luiten landed the first albatross of the 2014 European Tour season.

The reigning KLM Open champion holed out at the 560-yard par five, 10th hole for a ‘two’ during today’s Volvo Champions second round here on the Durban Country Club course in Durban.

Luiten had 248-yards to the hole and accomplished the effort with a 4-iron.

The albatross sent him into a share of the lead on six under par after starting his round at two under par.

Bizarrely, there was just one albatross in 2013 and that was Scotland’s Chris Doak during the Maderia Islands Open.
