Rory McIlroy – A Traditionalist At Heart In Asking Wozniacki’s Parents For Daughter’s Hand.

It’s come to notice Rory McIlroy is a traditionalist at heart and first approaching Caroline Wozniacki’s parents if he could marry their daughter – Caroline.

McIlroy chose Sydney Harbour and the New Year’s Eve spectacular fireworks to pop
the question to his tennis ace girlfriend.

But before he did he afforded the courtesy to her parents.

Rory and Caroline - 2013 DP World Tour C'ship“My parents knew as he had asked my parents for permission, like traditional, which was great,” said Wozniacki from Sydney where she is competing APIA Sydney International.

“I was very happy. They were very happy for me, and his parents as well and everyone around us.”

“So it’s a special moment, a special time in our lives. You know, it’s amazing to have everything set in the personal life and we can really focus on our games and the year ahead of us in the sport, which we’re both looking very much forward to.”
The couple have not spoke of a date for their marriage and the pair will not be struggling like the majority of young newly weds.
According to Golf Digest, McIlroy earned more than $20m last year, with $18 million coming from off-the-course deals.
And according to Forbes, Wozniacki pocketed some $13.6m in 2013, with $11 million of that coming from endorsements.

Also of note in that Forbes piece is that McIlroy is also on the list — two of Forbes’ top 30 people in sports under 30 will soon be one big, strong married couple.
