Paul Casey & Pollyanna Woodward Annouce Engagement.

Paul Casey has become the latest leading European golfer to become engaged with his TV presenter girlfriend Pollyanna Woodward breaking the news.

Casey’s engagement, and what will be a second marriage for both, comes less than a week after fellow European Rory McIlroy and leading tennis girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki announced on New Year’s Day they were to be married.

Woodward went onto Tweeter to say: “I’ve some special news @Paul_Casey & I are engaged, we’re so happy & hope that you’ve also had a great start to 2014″.

The pair first met at the 2011 Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix when Woodward was co-presenting the Formula One Chequered Flag Ball with Eddie Jordan.

Woodward, who was married for a short time to fellow TV personality Lee Clark, is co-presenter of the successful BBC TV Channel 5 program – The Gadget Show.

“Both Paul and I were going through divorce and when mine came through I waited to Paul’s came through, and asked him out,” said the 31-year old Woodward last year.

“Paul is amazing. I love him to pieces. If I married him it would make my world, and if I had a family with him, it would be even better.”

Until winning last year’s Irish Open the 36-year old Casey had endured a horrid two years following a bitter bust-up to his first marriage and then breaking his collarbone in late 2011 after a snow-boarding accident.

No sooner after he captured the Irish Open last June and Casey singled out Woodward for special praise.

“Pollyanna’s fantastic and she understands me very well, and for those that have met her will understand the positiveness that she carries with her at all times.

“It’s very infectious and it’s something that, and I’m not that way, and I need that, and it’s nice to have that around. She is very calm, and I think that’s been a very positive influence on my golf and on my life in general.”

Casey will commence his 2014 season at this week’s Volvo Champions event in Durban, South Africa.
