The Streelman’s are expecting their first child in eight weeks.  Laird’s wife, Megan is expecting the couple’s first child the week of March’s Tampa Bay Championship that Streelman will be defending champion.

“It’s my first visit here to Royal Melbourne and my only wish was that my wife could have also made the trip but she’s eight weeks away from having our first baby, so the doctor advised her not to travel,” said Streelman.

“But I’ve been away for a few weeks now having played in Malaysia and recently in China, plus I’ve got the Australian Open next week in Sydney and the Nedbank Challenge in South Africa so I’ve still got a bit of world travelling before I get back home to see her.

“It would be nice to take her home a trophy of two but it’s still pretty early and I’m just pleased to have got off to a good start.”

Laird said:  “Megan is due the week of the Tampa Bay Championship in March and just a fortnight before I defend the Valero Texas Open, so it’s going to be an exciting time for the both of us.

“One thing’s for sure, it will change live in the Laird residence but I’m looking forward very much to becoming a father.”

And Santos’ wife, Rita is expecting the couple’s second child, a girl, in early January.

It will be a companion for their daughter, Victoria.

Santos continues to impress in his very first visit to Australia posting rounds of 68 and 69 and being among just four players in the 60-player field to have posted to sub-70 scores.
