He’s been on the Els Club range each day under the watchful eye of long-time coach Michael Bannon, caddy J P Fitzgerald and girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki.

The current World No. 6 is no stranger to the Els Club and its superb practice facilities and he’s been spending this past week working on his game.

However McIlroy didn’t count on Tatana Kucharova, who was crowned Miss World in 2006, along with a host of models participating in the final of the Beauty and Golf Tour 2013.

The Tour is a series of international golf series staged in UAE, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, France, Germany, Great Britain and the USA.

We understand Wozniacki was naturally struck with inquisitiveness as she walked by the clubhouse but couldn’t be enticed inside, and she wasn’t about to allow McIlroy to be distracted.

“No, I’ve got to make sure Rory works on his game,” she was heard to say.

And as McIlroy worked on the practice range golfers from around the world engaged with top international fashion models to help promote both local and international golf tourism and fashion.

In fact, if 24-year old McIlroy had noticed the models accompanied golfers onto the course and at every third hole a judge was there to evaluate and assign them points from the beauty contest.

The fashion model of the winning team was crowned the “Face of Golf Dubai” as the most beautiful woman in the tour by a panel of expert judges.

McIlroy will travel to Sydney on the weekend ahead of teeing-up in next Thursday’s starting Australian Open at Royal Sydney laid on close the shores of stunning Sydney Harbour.
