England and Manchester United injured mid-fielder Michael Carrick bravely walked all 18 holes with double Major winning Rory McIlroy on the second day of the  DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

McIlroy had met Carrick and his wife, Lisa some weeks ago when the Northern Ireland golfer was in Manchester.

And while Carrick has his left leg in a protective cast he still managed to make it around the Earth Course and witness McIlroy shoot a five under par 67 and move to a share of ninth place on six under par.
