Henrik Stenson Takes Delivery Of $11.4m FedEx Cup Victory.

Sweden’s Henrik Stenson has wrapped-up the FedEx Cup Play-Off Series in brilliant manner in winning the Tour Championship to collect a whopping $11.4m in prizemoney.

Stenson led from start to finish in Atlanta in posting a final round 68 to win by three shots with a 13-under par victory on the East Lake course.

The Swede raced to the top of the 2014 European Ryder Cup points table and in the process collecting his second Play Off Series victory in three weeks.

Stenson also became the first European -born player to win the FedEx Cup.

“This is absolutely the best golf I have ever played in my career,” he said.

“Ever since the Scottish Open and the week before The Open in July it has been an incredible run of golf for me and I don’t know what to say because of the results I have managed to produce has left me speechless.

“And to be able to hand in the way I have is really satisfying.  My first two-and-a-half rounds today was incredible tee to green and while the weekend wasn’t my best golf I managed to hang in there.

“But to win both these trophies, the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup, is unbelievable.  I have now managed to come back twice out of slumps and it just shows that one should never give up and you should just keep trying harder as things will come your way and this just proves that.”

Stenson wins a cheque for $1.4m in capturing the Tour Championship and a whopping $10m windfall in finishing first on the FedEx Points table and well ahead of Tiger Woods who was in second place.
