The World No. 1 got off to a blistering start burning plenty of Bridgestone rubber in starting – birdie, eagle and birdie.
Woods kept the pedal to the metal to also birdie the seventh and then four in succession from the 10th hole to already leave defending Bridgestone champion, Keegan Bradley and the rest of his rivals choking in the World No. 1’s dust.
In fact, Woods birdie at the 14th came after he played a wild drive right but with his ball ricocheting off a tree and back into the middle of the fairway.
www.golfstats.com reports that Woods has three times in his career got as low as a 61.
He shot a seccond round 61 on route to finishing T2nd in the 2005 Buick Open and a second round 61 on route to victory in the 2000 WGC – Bridgestone Invitational.
As well, Woods shot a 61 on the first day in finising T7th in the 1999 EDS Byron Nelson Classic.
