World No. 1 Rory McIlroy produced his second sub-par round in succession with an adventurous one under par 71 on day three of the WGC – Cadillac Championship.
McIlroy’s play is still not anywhere near his double Major winning form given he dropped three strokes within two holes after a bogey at Doral’s third hole and then a double at the next to be three over for the day.
But all credit to the 23-year old who bounced back with five birdies in a six hole stretch from the 11th to 16th holes.
And then for a third day McIlroy gave back a shot at the 18th.
He walked from the course sharing 30th place at three under par but a distant dozen shots behind fellow Nike staff player, Tiger Woods who had moved to 15-under par after five holes.
