Rory McIlroy Signs Undisclosed Sponsorship Deal With Bose.

Just weeks after Rory McIlroy’s much-awaited signing with Nike Golf and the World No. 1 has agreed to a deal to sponsor audio giant – Bose.

McIlroy will serve as a global brand ambassador for the US-based company under a multi-year sponsorship agreement.

“Rory is a once-in-a-generation athlete,” said Bose President Bob Maresca.

“Just like his millions of fans around the world, we’re amazed by his talent and his passion. We know a lot goes into his game even when he’s off the course. He loves music, just like we do, and we’re thrilled to be a part of how he competes and relaxes.”

Bose said it’s the first endorsement for McIlroy involving a consumer electronics brand, and he will only be representing Bose products that he uses.

“I’ve always chosen Bose because I’ve always wanted the best sound quality I could get,” said McIlroy in a statement.

“Bose products are different. And Bose is different. They work hard at their innovations, they aren’t conventional, and they’re committed to doing things that haven’t been done before, just like I am.”

McIlroy used the sponsorship launch to play a trick shot using two wedges and after bouncing a ball off the face of one club he the club upside down he managed to balance the ball on the reverse side of the clubface.

Bose was founded in 1964 by Amar Bose, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

McIlroy will endorse Bose headphones, portable speakers and home and automotive systems.

And as expected, financial terms of the deal and finalized after the golfer visited Bose’s Framingham headquarters, have not been disclosed.

It means McIlroy now has increased his sponsors to four – Nike, Santander Bank, Audemars Piguet and Bose.
