Matt Kucher Jumps 15 To No. 8, Poulter Up 3, Mahan 4, Day 8 & Lowry 6 Spots On World Rankings.

American Matt Kuchar has jumped 15 places to No. 8 on the World Rankings following his victory in the WGC – Accenture Match-Play Championship.

Kuchar defeated compatriot Hunter Mahan 2 & 1 in a thrilling finale to the $US 8.75m event and capture a first WGC title.

Despite his loss Mahan has moved up four places to 21st in the world while England’s Ian Poulter, who officially finished fourth, has picked up three places to move back inside the top-10 at 10th and just five places away from a career best of fifth in the world in April, 2010.

Australia’s Jason Day, who defeated Poulter in the play-off for third, has moved forward eight places to 35th.

Ireland’s Shane Lowry, who bundled fellow Irishman and World No. 1 Rory McIlroy out in the delayed opening round, has picked up six spots to be 63rd in the world.

And South African Tim Clark continues his rise having moved from 91st at the end of last year to be now ranked 48th.  Clark defeated Australia’s Adam Scott and then Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen before losing out to Poulter in the third round.
