Missing Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano Spotted In Singapore

Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano has disappointed organisers with a decision not to defend this week’s Barclays Singapore Open.

But then the Spaniard has been spotted at the Sentosa Resort with a billboard size photograph of him taking pride of place along with other former champions (see photograph below)

The same scenario applies next week in Hong Kong and with the co-sanctioned event struggling a number of leading Europeans, including Fernandez-Castano, are teeing-up in the Japan Tour’s Dunlop Phoeniz Open.

Joining ‘Gonzo’ in Japan is Ryder Cup stars Luke Donald and Nicolas Colsaerts along with Spain’s big-hitting Alvaro Quiros and the Danish duo of Thomas Bjorn and Thorbjorn Olesen, as well as Americans Rickie Fowler and Kevin Stadler.
