Simon Khan Withdraws From PGA Tour Second Stage.

England’s Simon Khan has withdrawn from the second stage of PGA Tour qualifying later this month.

Khan is exempt into second stage but revealed to www.golfbytourmiss.com that intends remaining loyal to the European Tour and focussing on improving his current 443rd World Ranking.

It was just two years ago the now 40-year old Englishman tamed the famed ‘Burma Road’ course to capture the Tour’s flagship event – the BMW PGA Championship.

He became exempt into the second stage of 2013 PGA Tour qualifying in making the halfway cut to finish in a share of 45th in this year’s 141st Open Championship at Royal Lytham and St. Annes.

“I’ve withdrawn my name from the second stage of qualifying as I want to focus more on the European Tour,” said Khan while practicing for this week’s $6m Barclays Singapore Open.

“If successful, it would be pretty demanding trying to play both tour’s and the big goal for me is that if I do improve my World Ranking and get myself into the top-50 then all those doors in the States will open.

“So while it was nice to be exempt into second stage it’s more important I focus on improving on the European Tour.”

As well, Khan’s daughter Ruby is now aged seven and he’s enjoying being at home with his wife and daughter.
