Shane Lowry Ends Three Year Wait For First Pro Career Win With Portugal Masters Success.

Ireland’s Shane Lowry has ended a three-year wait to finally taste success as a professional in capturing the Portugal Masters at Vilamoura.

Despite a bogey at the last, Lowry earned his second Race to Dubai success, and his first since capturing the 2009 Irish Open as an amateur, after fellow Irish Open winner, Ross Fisher of England missed a four-foot putt for par that would have sent the Euro 2.5m event into a play-off.

Lowry created history as his now only the second player in the 40-year history of the European Tour along with Spain’s Pablo Martin to win a Tour event as an amateur and then to win as a pro.
