Scot George Murray got the short end of the straw when Spain’s Jorge Campillo won a new 6 Series BMW and Murray got another bottle of bubbly for aces on day two of the BMW Italian Open.
Murray grabbed his second Tour hole-in-one when he sent a 196-yard 5-iron shot to the bottom of the cup on the par three, third hole at the Royal Park club.

Less than an hour later the 26-year old Spaniard Jorge Campillo won the keys to a £90,000 BMW coupe.
Murray, who missed the Turin cut with round of 70 for a three under par tally, was presented with a £135 jeroboam of Follador Prosecco.
He said: “I got a hole-in-one at Wales last year and it was the wrong hole, as well.
“But while it’s nice to be presented with a prize I’m playing rubbish and I’ve had enough.
“I should be playing much better than I am but I just can’t hit my irons. That used to be the best part of my game and it’s just rubbish.
“The only good shot I hit all day was the 5-iron at three, as I hit a wee fade and it took just one bounced and rolled in, but then there was only about two folk who saw it.
“It’s just a shame it wasn’t a car as it’s worth about £90,000. It’s sitting on the 15th tee and I actually sat against it but that’s the closest I got (smiling).”
Murray had been asked also how he birdied the last but his disappointment in his game didn’t change.
He said: “I only birdied the last because I was annoyed with my game. I hit a poor drive, a terrible second shot but then hit my third to 15 feet and holed it out of disgust.
“But I’m just not making enough birdies.”
It’s the seventh cut in row Murray’s missed while he’s lying well down in 161stplace on the money list and well down on last year’s career high of 81st.
Murray now has a couple of weeks off before his next event – the October 4thstarting Alfred Dunhill Links Championship – and the event where last year he finished tied third.
He said: “I’m going to go up and play a few games at Crail and Kingsbarns plus I’ll phone up Eric Ramsay and see if I can get a game at Carnoustie.
“I’ve also been seeing Jim Farmer up at St. Andrews, so I’ll spend a bit of time with him.
“But I’m just so annoyed and disappointed because the game is just awful and I need to do something quickly to hold onto my card.
“I’m going to need another Dunhill result, for sure.”
It’s the third time this year BMW have had to hand over a car and with one official overheard saying that ‘insurers are not happy’. –
