BMW Italian Open Organisers Seat Three Ryder Cup Stars In Same Turin Group.

Organisers of this week’s BMW Italian Open have not surprisingly put the only three European Ryder Cup stars – Italy’s Francesco Molinari, Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts and Germany’s Martin Kaymer – in the same group for the opening two rounds of the event in Turin.

Colsaerts and Kaymer played beside each for a very first time last week in Holland and now find themselves grouped in Itlay.

Molinari will start the event as overwhelming crowd favourite, and looking for a second Italian Open success after breaking through to win the 2006 Italian Open and also his first European Tour victory.

Francesco Molinari chasing a second Italian Open victory and also looking to deliver the European Team its seventh success since the PGA Championship;

Of course, Molinari will be out to impress European Ryder Cup captain, Jose Maria Olazabal after the remarkable success in recent weeks by European Team members headed by World No. 1 Rory McIlroy who has won three of his last four events.

Olazabal will play the first two days two groups ahead of his Medinah competitors and playing alongside former Ryder Cups stars, Costantino Rocca and Frenchman Thomas Levet, who is widely tipped already to be a part of the 2018 Ryder Cup back room team.

In other groups, victorious 2010 Ryder Cup captain, Colin Montgomerie will play alongside 2002 PGA Champion, Rich Beem and Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey.

And Italian stallion, Matteo Manassero will play the first two days in the company of Sweden’s Robert Karlsson and Spain’s Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano.
