The sound of lightning and heavy rain practically drowned out Tiger Woods pre-PGA Championship press conference today at Kiawah Island.
However there was one answer that was loud and clear and with Woods speaking up above the sound of thunder to declare he still has 10 years and 41 Major Championships to win the five Majors that would take him past the great Jack Nicklaus.
“I figure it’s going to take a career, and it’s going to take a long time,” said Woods.
“Jack didn’t finish his until he was 46, so if go buy that timetable I’ve got 10 more years and 41 more Majors.”

And Woods has not ruled out representing USA in four years time when golf returns to the Olympics.
Woods will be 40 if he marches into the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Stadium in 2016.
And while he still is fiercely determined to go past Golden Bear Jack Nicklaus’ haul of 18 Majors, the thought of a joining African-American greats as Jessie Owens, Karl Lewis, Michael Johnson and Michael Jordan as Olympic Gold medalists.
“It’ll be something else to be able represent my country in the Olympic Games,” said Woods.
“Hopefully, I will be able to have qualified at that point in time, and I’ll be 40 years of age.
“It will be exciting to be able to go down to Brazil and do something like that, and to represent your country, whatever country we’re from.”
However the biggest gripe among the top players will be the 2016 Games format of four rounds of stroke play, and with former Open Champion, Stewart Cink suggesting even a long driving contest to spice-up the event.
But while Woods would love wear OIympic Gold, it’s a 15th Major he is focussing on at this week’s PGA Championship on storm lashed Kiawah Island in South Carolina.
