The opening round of the 2012 Open Championship wound up 14 1/2 hours after the first tee off with Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng holing out on the 18th green at 8.55pm local time.
Marksaeng carded a five over par 75 in his fifth Open appearance.
However after missing the halfway cut in his last four Open’s it doesn’t look at that well for the 46-year old playing all four days.
The Hua Hin born Marksaeng tees off on day two trailing 11 shots behind Australia’s Adam Scott who equalled the lowest-ever in a Royal Lytham Open with a six under par 64.
