Tiger Woods Sets Sights On 2016 Oympic Games.

Tiger Woods is setting his sights not only on fourth Open Championship victory but he’s looking ahead to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Of course, Woods still has to qualify for the USA team and he accepted that today in attending a press conference in the Media Centre at Royal Lytham and St. Annes.

The 14-time Major winner was asked about the 2016 Olympics early in his conference.

“Well, I hope I can qualify,” he said.

“I’ll be ‑‑ four more years, I’ll be 40 by then.

“It will be something that ‑‑ I’ve never experienced.

“And it’ll be something that I’ve never experienced, and I would love to be able to have a chance to represent my country in playing in the Olympic games.”

Of course, golf will be returning to the 2016 an 2020 Olympics for a first time since 1904.

Gil Hanse, the acclaimed designed of the Castle Stuart course at Inverness and the Craighead course at Crail in Fife, has the honour of designing the Rio course.
