Rookie Scott Jamieson revealed the secret to his superb form this season – two U.S. based female teachers.
Jamieson is looking to end a 17-year Scottish drought in the Spanish Open after carding a second day 72 to finish in a share of third place at six under par.
He trails two strokes behind South African Thomas Aiken (68) who moved to eight under par.
Jamieson arrived in the former Olympic Games host city for his ninth event of his rookie season lying 85th on the Race to Dubai with a best of sixth in the Joburg Open and fifth in the recent Sicilian Open.
And the quietly-spoken Scot revealed the help he’s getting off the course, and from a most unusual source – two Arizona-based female mind coaches in Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson, co-creators of the Vision 54 approach.
Last year they were ranked the No. 1 and No. 2 female golf teachers by U.S. Golf Digest and their ‘54’ theory equates to 18 birdies in a round – a 54 total.
Jamieson said: “I went out to visit them in February. I had been reading there books so I thought I would go out and see them.
“It’s all about handling the nerves the best.
“You can’t hit perfect shots all day and I’d be lying if I said that hasn’t happened to me in the past.
“You’ve got to try and collect your thoughts and get on with it.”
