Andrew Marshall No Longer In Need Of New Motor After BMW Ace.

England’s Andrew Marshall no longer has to look for a new vehicle after he earned the keys to a gleaming BMW 6 Series coupe for a hole-in-one in the BMW International Open in Cologne.

Marshall, 39 aced the Gut Larcenhof par three, 17th he was playing as his eighth hole.

It was Marshall’s first ace on the Tour in more than 220 events since 2001 and could not have come at a more timely moment for the 38-year old.

“I’ve been looking for a new car but not like I could afford a 6 Series but it’s a very tidy card, and still can’t believe it,” he said.

“The shot was pure blind luck because I got the yardage wrong yesterday and after ‘Miko’ (Sweden’s Mikael Lundberg) went long, I changed clubs.

“I thought I hit it too well but then everyone went bananas.  It was into the sun and I didn’t see it but the roar was awesome.”

Marshall’s hole-in-one helped him post a second round 67 that put him in a share of 13th place in the Euro 2m event and a third round tee off in the company of Spain’s Sergio Garcia.

The golfing purists will remember it was Marshall and Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen who were drawn to play alongside Rory McIlroy when the Northern Irishman made his pro debut in the 2007 Quinn Direct British Masters at The Belfry.
