U.S. Open Qualifier – Down To 92 – Hansen, Hoey & Horsey Withdraw

Monday’s U.S. Open qualifier at Walton Heath is officially 92 players with the close of entries at noon today.

Ryder Cup captain’s Jose Maria Olazabal and Colin Montgomerie still head the field teeing up in the 36-hole qualifier on the famed Surrey course.

The field had been initially 106 but that has been cut by 14 with a number of notable withdrawals including Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey, former Ryder Cup star, Soren Hansen and past BMW International Open winner, David Horsey.

Hoey has never contested a U.S. Open and has been forced out as he is still battling a heavy cold.
