Can it get any better for top-Scot Robert MacIntyre?
2023 – Member of winning European Ryder Cup team
2024 – Won RBC Canadian Open and Genesis Scottish Open
2025 – Won Hero Dubai Desert Classic, member of winning European Ryder Cup side and now first Scot in 20-years to capture Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
It could not have been a better scenario for the Home of Golf nation with MacIntyre not only returning home from the Ryder Cup a winning hero but then in his very next tournament delivering his beloved Scotland victory in 40th hosting of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The 29-year-old Oban-born lefty posted a three rounds of 66 to win the three-round reduced event by four shots at 18-under par..
Victory for MacIntyre sees him follow in the footsteps of Colin Montgomerie, the last Scotsman to take home the trophy in 2005.

The affects of Story Amy wreaked havoc on the field around lunch on Friday and seeing the efforts of most blown off all three courses hosting the event. Officials attempted to play Saturday’s third round but were horrifically embarrassed as play had to be halted after just one hole. It was later on Saturday the event was officially reduced to 54-holes rather than go through to a Monday finish.
It is only the second occasion, the last only two years ago in 2023, the event has been shortened to 54 holes not that worried the locals who were out in force with the cannine friends to cheer home MacIntyre, who collects a fourth DP World Tour success and a sixth win of his pro career..
His Ryder Cup team-mate Tyrell Hatton and triple Dunhill winner was in second place, four shots behind MacIntyre.
“Unbelievable, any time you can win a golf tournament on these shores is unbelievable,” MacIntyre said.
“The biggest thing is being able to manoeuvre the golf ball,” he explained of the conditions. “It’s about controlling the golf ball to land softly round the pins.
“It’s brilliant. I don’t know how we’re going to celebrate after the celebration we had last Sunday,” MacIntyre added. “It’s a beautiful ending to a good week.”
Hatton, winner of the Dunhill Links in 2016 and 2017, and also a year ago, grabbed seven closing birdies in a score of 65.
