McIlroy was in the rough down the right side of the 16th hole and just about to play his second shot into the green when a spectator shouted something clearly and rudely in his direction.

Rors reacted to the derogatory comments immediately walking away in disgust from his shot but no sooner in turning in the direction of the perpetraotor and letting loose with his brutal F-letter wordoutburst, and an outburst that seemed for all intention purposes very much as ‘I’ve had enough of this rubbish ‘ outburst.
Suffice to say the crowd went silent at this rare example of frustration from golf’s newest Grand Slam winning hero and with McIlroy landing his second shot brilliantly to 10 feet from the cup ahead of Fleetwood holing the birdie for the pair to win the match 3 & 2 over USA rivals Harris English and Colin Morikawa.
The win was the second for Europe on day two taking Luke Donald’s men to 6 1/2 to 3 1/2 after the American duo of Bryson DeChampbeau and Cameron Young defeated Europe’s Matt Fitzpatrick and Ludwig Auberg 4 & 2 in the opening match on day two.
