Exclusive – England-Born New BMW Int’ Open Champ Dan Brown Chuffed For Scottish Duo

After the highly emotional scenes yesterday in Munich, new BMW International Open champ Dan Brown is ready to warmly congratulate the Tartan duo of Richie Ramsay and Grant Forrest in securing tee-times into this week’s Genesis Scottish Open.

Brown’s highly-emotional second Tour success allowed both Ramsay and Forrest entry off the bench and into the $9m event later this week at the Renaissance Club in East Lothian.

Forrest was first reserve but with Brown already exempt into the Scottish, Forrest is now just five minutes from teeing-up in his ‘home’ open while Ramsay has cancelled competing in Louisville, Kentucky.

Brown was made aware of the Scot’s plight by the Daily Record’s/GolfByTourMiss Bernie McGuire soon after his German triumph.

He said: “I would not say I am very good friends with Richie and Grant but I am very fond of them both, and I actually grew-up playing a lot of amateur golf against and alongside Grant.

“Richie has always been good to me since I first came out onto the Tour, helping me out and advising me since I got my Tour card a few years ago.

“They are great people to be around and to learn that my win has helped them get into their own Scottish Open is amazing.  I am so happy for them both.

“And to learn that I’ve helped Richie to be playing at home in Gullane this week and not have to travel all the way to Kentucky is fabulous news (smiling).

“I’m looking forward to meeting-up with them both this week in Scotland”,
