Ryder Cup Captain, Vice-Captains Plus Stars Past & Present Teeing-Up In Munich

Ryder Cup stars past and present will be teeing-up in next week’s BMW Intertnational Open in Munich.

The 36th hosting of the prestigious DP World Tour event has again attracted current European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald who last competed in the event two years ago as the 2023 European captain and with Donald sharing 47th place on the host Golfclub München Eichenried course.

Donald will be teeing-up again via his Category 5 exemption off the ‘All Time Money List’.

Joining Donald will be European vice-captaincy pair of Nicolas Colsaerts and Edorado Molinari each a member of his winning  2023 side and on board as 2025 European Team vice-captain’s.   Both vice-captain’s work was crucial to Europe’s success in Rome where the under-rated European humbled the more-fancied United States with Donald glowing in expressing confidence in the ability of each to contribute significantly to the team’s performance in the upcoming event at Bethpage Black.

Other Ryder Cup past team members teeing-up in Germany will the LIV stars Sergio Garcia and also Texas-based Patrick Reed.

The now 45-year-old Garcia ever keen to be afforded a Donald ‘wildcard’ pick into what would be an historic 11th European Team showing.

Reed, who contested last year’s event, also will be keen to return to winning form not only in Germany but the 153rd Open Championship and promote his own agrenda in seeking a ‘wildcard’ pick into Keegan Bradley’s side.

Other Ryder Cup stars teeing-up in the Bavarian capital include Martin Kaymer, winner of the event in 2008 and an unbeaten four-time winning European Ryder Cup team member while the BMW field will also include 2010 winning team member Ross Fisher and six-time Tour champion.

Also let’s not forget dual BMW International Open winning champ Pablo Larrazabal and also defending champ Ewen Ferguson.
