The Scot duo of Connor Syme and Callum Hill each face an anxious overnight and early Saturday morning wait to learn if they have each done enough to play all four rounds of the Investec South African Open in Durban.
Syme and Hill were out on the host Durban Country Club course early on Friday for the 7.30am restart to their opening rounds after the start to day one in the 114th hosting of the event have been delayed three hours due to heavy rain closing the course on Wednesday.
Fifer Syme managed just seven holes when poor light halted play late Thursday before a bright-and-early restart for all players affected and with Syme eventually posting a level par 72.

No sooner did Syme grab a quick lunch and it was out for his second round, ending mid-afternoon local time grabbing six birdies in a three-under 69 to be sharing 68th place at three-under but one shot shy of the expected four-under cut-off mark.
Syme has contested four events this New Year, playing all four rounds with a best result of T13th last week in the Magical Kenya Open.
Also waiting with fingers crossed is Hill and in the same situation as Syme, posting rounds of 74 and 68 and one shot more than Syme and hoping he too will make the cut.
Richie Ramsay, who was out in early on Thursday in contrast to Syme and Hill, officially shared fourth place after the first round ended near lunch Friday, is at seven-under through 12 holes while Scott Jamieson is at five-under through 15 holes, two shots back of Ramsay and looking good for the closing two rounds.
South African Shaun Norris added a second round 64 to be enjoying the clubhouse lead by a shot at 14-under.
