Powerhouse India, USA & Twin Saudi Business Fourball Take To Old Course

It’s a great highlight each year that the Alfred Dunhill Links brings not only some of the best golfers to Scotland to contest the event but it also attracts some of the world’s wealthiest business people.

GolfByTourMiss yesterday featured an article of past three-time New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg who we met at Kingsbarns Links. (See: http://www.golfbytourmiss.com/2025/09/new-york-city-mayor-sings-kingsbarns-links-praise-but-seriously-questions-big-apple-golf-fans/ )

Today we were on the first tee of the Old Course at St. Andrews and present when four gentlemen arrived on the tee ahead of teeing-up in a friendly practice round ahead of this week’s 24th hosting of the $5m tournament.

The four golfers included from left to right in the photograph below are:

Noah Alireza is the Saudi born CEO of Golf Saudi.  He is also General Secretary of the Arab Golf  Federation.  He is a former member of the Saudi Arabian national golf team, having represented Saudi Arabia in the Asian Games.  He is teeing-up for a first time in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

Dr, Pawan Munjal  Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Hero Moto Corp, the world’s largest manfacturer of motorcycles and scooters. The company is a big supporter of golf and other sports and is title sponsor of the DPWT’s Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Hero India Open and the Hero World Challenge.  Tiger Woods is a Hero global corporate partner.  Pawan plays most of his golf at the DLF Golf Club in his homeland.  This is his fourth appearance in the event.

His Excellency Yasir Al Rumayyan, a Saudi Arabian businessman who is governor of the Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also chairs the state-owned petroleum company Saudi Aramco and Saudi Arabia’s largest mining company.  He plays his golf mainly at the Riyadh Golf Club and this is his third time playing the Alfred Duhill Links.  He was unmissable in sporting a purple pullover and also a smart (Saudi) green Callaway cap though there’s no truth in rumous he’s signed with the US golf equipment giant (smiling).

Sammy Eldin is the Amercian-born founding partner of Tricap Investments, which manage a global portfolio in real estate and industry.  He plays most of his golf at the Caves Valley club near Balrimore in Maryland. He is also a keen supporter of many golf charities including the First Tee Program, the Marine Golf Scholarship Foundation and the Friends of New York. He is teeing-up in the Dunhill for a fifth occasion.
